응답속도는 사용자가 페이지를 요청한 후 서버로부터의 최초 응답을 받기까지 걸린 서버의 순수 처리속도인 Time to First Byte(TTFB) 값을 측정하며, 이 때 DNS Lookup, SSL Handshake, Redirect 등 캐싱이 될 수 있는 부분에 걸린 시간은 제외한 후 측정합니다.
매니아 데이터센터 내 서버에서 체크할 경우 타사이트의 응답속도가 불리하게 측정될 수 있는 문제를 최소화하기 위해 KT사의 일반 가정용 광랜 회선에 연결된 서버(서울에 위치)로 체크하며, 가정용 회선의 상태에 따른 변수 또한 최소화하기 위해 한 번 체크할 때 마다 총 3회를 체크하여 그 중 가장 빠른 응답속도를 기록합니다.
매니아 플랫폼 커뮤니티에는 낮은 TTFB 값을 얻기 위한 눈속임 방법(페이지를 서버에서 한 번에 가공하여 보내지 않고 여러 부분으로 쪼개어 순차적으로 보내는 방법 등)이 사용되지 않았습니다.
